Photo: Volunteers Thanks to the efforts of many volunteers the program has been very successful.

If you would like to volunteer as a tutor, please call the local Centre for more information.

All it takes is a willingness to help others and a few hours each week. We provide the training and resources.

Tutor training workshops are held every two to three months.

to present the Adult Learning Centres’ philosophy which advocates a learner-centred approach
to emphasize that learning does not usually take place "in a straight line" and varies among individuals
to convey that the tutor and learner are forming a learning partnership in which they work together towards common goals
to provide tutors with practical techniques or approaches they can use to help learners improve their reading, writing and numeracy skills
to inform tutors of their responsibilities and the many supports and resources that are available to them
