Spelling and Phonics

Many students want help with improving spelling. We have great resources that can help you work on these skills. There are workbooks, dictionaries and computer programs.

The Adult Learning Centres use a balanced literacy approach that utilizes whole language instruction including phonics.

We have purchased a variety of aids and programs that can help students learn to approach reading and writing by using phonics. Some of these resources work for some students. Some are not as helpful depending upon your learning style. We would be happy to help you find the materials that best suit you.
